Doyle Peeks
developed
CraneAccidents.com in January of
1999. Since then, the web site has drawn an international audience as the
premier source for reports, photos and
professional commentary about crane- related accidents.
The site includes an archive of accident
listings, dating back to 1995.
Following the Friday, July 18 incident in
Houston that killed four workers, and
the two New York City crane collapses earlier this year, CraneAccidents.com was
a source to safety personnel, media and the public for its background and
perspective on previous crane-related incidents, injuries and
deaths.
While investigations are underway to learn
what caused the Houston tragedy, we asked Mr. Peeks about crane
accidents overall -- recent and past history, along with his opinions on why
many of these incidents occur.
